Agora der Zukunftsvögel No. 4

Ein transdisziplinäres Treffen für Menschen aus IT, Wirtschaft, Bildung, sozialer Innovation und Kunst

Donnerstagabend – Sonntagmittag
14.–17. Mai 2026
Impulszentrum Holdenweid BL

The speed of change is no longer a metric, it is the environment in which we operate. For those of us working in technology, business, the arts, and education, navigating this complexity demands more than a newly found purpose, a strategic plan, or optimization and data; it requires a profound shift in perspective, and a radical new way of collaboration and co-creation.

Dare you leave the familiar?

We invite you to step away from the noise and join us for an experience designed not to solve problems, but to change the way you see them.

The Future Bird Agora: Finding the Rulers Within

The Agora of Future Birds draws its name from observing how bird flocks regularly gather in what appear to be «conferences». In these moments, the air fills with murmuration: animated chirping and restless exchange, as if reports were being shared about winds and weather, dangers encountered, unexpected detours, and surprisingly abundant feeding grounds. Who can really know what they are talking about? Perhaps these gatherings are moments of orientation and decision-making: Where do we head today? What is calling? Who flies ahead, and who lingers a little longer? And again and again, one senses a quiet question passing between beaks and wings: What is possible today, if we truly listen to one another? For the flock knows something no single bird can know alone – a form of intelligence that becomes audible only through sharing.

It also feels deeply meaningful that the core message of the ancient Persian tale The Conference of the Birds resonates so precisely with our work. In this story, thousands of birds set out together in search of a king, only to discover at the end of their journey that the king they were seeking was nothing other than their own collective reflection. The king is the sum of themselvee, the integrated whole that reveals itself only through the shared act of the journey.

Next May, we invite you to participate in your own discovery. The Agora is our modern conference, a space where you, the shapers and leaders, workers and rebels, of technology, business, the arts, and education, come together to realize the collective wisdom and relational insight needed to govern the future of your sector.

The Sanctuary: A Retreat into the Whole

The setting for our gathering is as essential as the conversation. We will convene for a long weekend over Ascension, May 14–17, 2026, in a magnificent, former asylum turned surrealistic and theatrical innovation center in the heart of Switzerland: the Impulszentrum Holdenweid near Basel. This is not a typical hotel. It is a canvas where every room is a painting, every corner a dreamscape. This environment is intentionally chosen to dislodge conventional ways of thinking and operating, and stimulate deeper, imaginative connection.

The Experience: Activating the Right Hemisphere

Our current world, both on the educational level and in the sphere of work, is profoundly governed by the analytical, segmented, and abstract thinking of the left hemisphere. To truly navigate complexity – to lead, not just manage – we must intentionally restore balance.

The Agora is loosely structured around activating the «right brain hemisphere», the realm of intuition, imagination, and pattern recognition, in the spirit of the British psychiatrist, philosopher and neuroscientist Iain McGilchrist’s work, to cultivate the capacity for perceiving:

  • The Whole: Moving beyond isolated data points to grasp integrated systems.
  • The Relational: Understanding the connections and contexts that give meaning to information.
  • The Connected: Fostering true empathy, intuition, and holistic judgment.

Over three days, you will engage in facilitated, low-tech conversations, high intensity questions, urgent curiosity, mellow relaxation, reflective practices, and shared, curated experiences designed to shift you from a focus on what is known to a deeper sensing of what is present and emerging.

A Unique Creative Path into the Future

The time for simple roadmaps is over. Join us for this transformative journey to cultivate the personal clarity and collective insight required to chart your own map of organically adaptable and emergent pathways into a complex, uncertain future.

This is also a special invitation to those who have often felt out of sync: the questioners, the doubters, the imaginative irritators. Those who sense that familiar answers no longer work and who feel friction long before others notice a problem. By activating the right hemisphere we create space for precisely these sensibilities to become guiding forces rather than liabilities.

What once appeared as disturbance becomes orientation. What was pushed to the margins becomes central again. Together, we practice listening differently and trusting that the paths we need will not be handed to us ready-made, but will emerge as we move. Attentively, collectively, and alive to what wants to come next.

The cohort is strictly limited to ensure intimacy and depth of conversation.

Disturbance is not a flaw but a faculty.
